Mark gijzen:Adjunct Professor, University of Western Ontario;Senior Editor, Molecular Plant Microbe Interactions.
Molecular plant pathology and plant molecular biology; the application of modern methods of molecular genetic analysis to discover associations between genes and traits; the construction and sampling of cDNA libraries for expressed sequence tags; transcript profiling using microarrays; identification of genes by map-based approaches; biochemical characterization of protein toxins and elicitors; genomics.
Disease Resistance - Root rot caused by Phytophthora sojae is a serious and ongoing disease problem for Canadian soybean growers. Research efforts concentrate on identifying pathogen factors that determine host range and virulence.
Soybean Seed Quality - Seed quality characteristics affect the value and utilization of the crop and are important to importers, crushers, processors, seed dealers, and consumers of soy-based products. Our research focuses specifically on quality traits that are determined by the seed coat and pericarp tissues.

王源超:教授,博士生导师。主要研究方向有:(1)卵菌分子遗传学,特别是大豆疫霉菌致病过程和大豆抗感病过程的功能基因组学;(2)疫霉菌的分类进化以及遗传多样性(3)重要植物病原真菌的快速分子检测、监测与病害诊断技术;(4)外来入侵生物学。主持多项省部级课题,获国家科技发明专利4项,2004年度教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”;2004年度江苏省青蓝工程优秀青年骨干教师;1999年度农业部科技进步二等奖,疫霉菌生殖生物学与抗药性研究,(2/5);2005年度教育部提名国家自然科学二等奖,疫霉菌多样性及其产生机制(2/7)
